Plantalia

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about how Plantalia works, your data and privacy, pricing, and getting started.

Plantalia is a simple, bilingual tracker that helps you eat a wider variety of plants. You log the plants you eat, watch your weekly ring fill toward 30 different plants, and see an estimate of your daily fiber. The goal is to add good things to your plate, not to count calories or cut foods out.

When you create an account, your data is stored in a secure cloud database. That includes your email, the plants you log, your servings, your streak, and your settings. Your information travels over a secure (HTTPS) connection, and each account's data is kept separate so other users cannot see yours. You can try the app and log plants before signing in, and that early activity is saved to your account when you create one.

You do. You can see and manage everything you log inside the app. The Plantalia team can access account information, like your email and subscription status, to run the service and help you if you contact support, and we review usage in an aggregated way to improve the app. We do not sell your information. We do not share your individual data with advertisers.

Yes. With Plantalia Pro, you can generate a one-page PDF summary of your plant diversity and estimated fiber and share it with your healthcare provider. The summary defaults to English, with an option to switch it to Spanish. You generate and share it yourself, so you stay in control of who sees it. Plantalia does not send your data to any doctor or clinic on its own.

No. Plantalia is an educational wellness tool. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for care from your own clinician. The fiber estimates and educational content are for general learning. Talk to your healthcare provider about your individual needs, especially if you have a medical condition or specific dietary requirements.

The fiber number is an estimate, not an exact measurement. We calculate it from standard serving sizes using a public nutrition database. Your real intake depends on portion size, ripeness, and how a food is prepared, so we show fiber as a range rather than a precise figure. Your plant count, on the other hand, is exact, because you log it yourself.

You can start logging plants right away without an account. To save your progress, keep your streak, and use the app across more than one device, you create a free account. Signing in also keeps your data from being lost if you clear your browser or switch phones.

Yes, the core app is free: logging plants, the weekly ring, your daily fiber estimate, the rainbow tracker, and your streak. Plantalia Pro is a paid option that adds full history and trends, the searchable plant and fiber database, the clinician PDF export, and more. Pricing is shown clearly with no hidden costs, and you can cancel anytime.

Yes. Plantalia is fully bilingual. You can switch between English and Spanish anytime using the language toggle, and the whole app, including the lessons and labels, changes with it.

Six groups count toward your 30: vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds, and herbs and spices. Each different plant counts once a week no matter how often you eat it, herbs and spices count as a quarter, and different colors of the same vegetable count separately. Meat, dairy, eggs, and heavily processed foods do not count.

Plantalia is a consumer wellness app that you use to track your own information. It is not a doctor, clinic, or health plan, so the data you log here is generally not covered by HIPAA the way records at a medical office are. You control your own data, and when you share a summary with your doctor, you are sharing your own information by choice. We still take your privacy seriously and handle your data carefully.

You can request that we delete your account and the data associated with it. Contact us at info@plantalia.app and we will take care of it.
